In October of 2020 Hein Farm at 303 Meadow Road in Farmington became our permanent location. We are thrilled to be the stewards of this land that has been farmed by the Hein family for 200 years. We have 22 acres of fields and grow actively on 5 acres.
We grow using organic methods and are focused on improving soil conditions for better crops and many years of productive farming in the future.
Our farm hours vary by season. We have an extensive garden center and large indoor farm stand full of CT's best produce and farm products. Our holidays shop is open in November and December.
Bring the family and explore our farm while you enjoy an ice cream and watch our silly chickens!
We grow a wide variety of vegetables and flowers using organic methods. Our crops include garlic, heirloom tomatoes , hot peppers, eggplant, okra, beets, kale, lettuce and a wide variety of flowers. We have a cut your own flower garden open August through October. We also plan to have pick your own raspberries by 2025.
In 2021 we have contributed to Farmington Food Pantry, Farmington High School project Graduation, Avon High School Project Graduation and have created an agricultural scholarship.
Thank YOU for supporting LOCAL!
We have a flock of very healthy and happy chickens. We raise these chickens for eggs. We have a wide variety of breeds and a very colorful egg assortment.
They stay in a protected coop at night and often free range around the farm during the day. They are well loved by all and are quite entertaining. During the holiday season they even wear bells and become jingle chickens!
In 2021 we created a very unique cut your own flower garden. This garden is open August until frost in October.
We provide the vase and scissors and a little guidance on arrangement and you get to wander the garden and cut any flowers you like to create a beautiful bouquet!
